Review, Recover and Resolve Sales Tax Issues

Varying state rules and vast gray areas make it difficult to do Sales and Use tax correctly. It also can be challenging for accounts payable, controllers, business owners, tax and financial directors, or CFO to stay aware of current and changed laws. That is where we help by: reviewing documentation, recovering overpayments, and resolving compliance issues.

Stephens|Dixon Recovery Services specialize in Sales and Use taxation in Texas and many other states. We work to maintain healthy relationships with state and local taxing authorities to ensure that our client’s interests are represented in any sales and use tax issue. Our goal is to exceed your expectations by delivering on all aspects of our agreement, helping you construct a serviceable tax plan for so that you can move forward with confidence, and representing your business interests throughout the audit process.

Our process is simple. Just point us to the files and we take care of the rest. First we review any audit work papers or AP and procurement history through related invoices, purchase orders, buying files and shipping documentation. Then create a schedule connecting overpayments by vendor, account stratum, payables or any other identifier that would be most helpful for your accounting area to address any overpayments. From these findings we construct an actionable plan to insure profit retention.

Fee Structure

Stephens|Dixon offers a number of fee structures to assist you in retaining the appropriate representation in an audit review or overpayment recovery. The majority of our work is done on a contingent fee basis. This offers you a level of assurance that if we are unable to improve your financial footing through our work your company will not be billed. We strive to be a good partner with all our clients. We are also able to offer a fixed fee or hourly rates.
